Computer Classes outcome report 2nd level

                                     January to February 2010

Prepared by Jorge Tello – Program Coordinator

The first round of 2010 Computer Classes started the last week of January in

Jose Arciga I Apartments with residents from Elm Park I, Jose Arciga I,

Willow Park and Montebello, every Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM for 6 weeks.

In this class the students were able to learn more details about word

processing, word art, text and picture editing tools, e-mail. They learned basic

Excel functions and operations such as opening worksheets, recognition and

operation of Excel basic formulas, editing cells, rows and columns. They also

practiced doing a running balance with their daily expenses.

MSN Messenger was very helpful for the participants; they realized that

communicating with their families in Mexico is much easier and less

expensive then prepaid phone cards or using their phone service provider for

international calling.

This particular class had a lot of questions about Internet security, since they

took the Level I class some of the participants had decided to buy a computer or

started using their kid’s computers; they were concerned about their

children’s security while navigating the internet for homework research or to find

online games.

As a coordinator and teacher of the computer classes I’m so exited about the

benefits provided by Bienestar’s programs and to see how they are helping the

community.
